Our Introduction to Beekeeping course is designed to teach the basics of keeping honey bees in the low, southwest desert of Arizona. This course runs approximately three hours and is split into two components: classroom education and hands-on experience.

The classroom portion provides students with general knowledge of honey bee biology, standard beekeeping equipment, and best practices for colony management. The hands-on experience provides students a unique opportunity to suit up as a beekeeper and apply the knowledge and skills learned while assisting the Master Beekeeper instructor with hive inspections in the on-site apiary.

IMPORTANT:

Classes will be held in a backyard apiary located at 8312 W. Soft Wind Drive, Peoria, AZ 85383.
Class sizes are limited to ensure that all students have the ability to fully participate in the beekeeping experience.
Protective suits and gloves will be provided by Honey Hive Farms on the day of the class for use during the hands-on portion.
Classes are non-refundable, but may be re-scheduled at the discretion of the instructor.
Effective 11/8/23, a Parent or Legal Guardian is required to be in attendance for the duration of the event for students under the age of 18, and must therefore purchase a separate class seat.
Military discount available upon request.
